Greetings! I am glad to be here at the Holy Disciples Parish and to minister to you. I wish to avail myself of this opportunity to interact with you by telling you the story of my life’s journey through the Bible.
I was 8 years old when I received my personal copy of the Bible. It was given by my Mom who said, “It is the greatest treasure that you can ever find in your life.” Then, she added: “Now on, you are entrusted with the task of reading the Bible at the end of the family Rosary every evening.” Thus, I realised that it was not only a gift but also a duty, and I carried it out faithfully ever since.
The love for the Bible that my Mom planted in my heart grew into an earnest desire to read the Bible every day, into discerning and choosing Priesthood as my vocation, and taking keen interest in the study of the Bible during my seminary formation. And by divine design, I was asked my superiors, only two years after my Ordination, to go for my studies in the Bible in 2004 at the Pontifical Biblical
Institute, Rome, and again for further studies at Catholic University of America, Washington DC in 2013. And I was privileged to teach Bible to our Seminarians in India in the years 2008-2012 and 2018-2023.
These many years of reading, studying and teaching the Bible have transformed and made me who I am today as a person and a priest. I have found meaning, purpose, peace and happiness in the process.
I share with you the story of my love for the Bible only to invite you to join me on a 12-Week journey through the Bible. With the encouragement given by Rev. Anthony Smith, our Pastor, I will be conducting a 12-Week Study of the Bible from Genesis to Jesus. The sessions are scheduled for 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesdays, starting with an orientation and Q&A session on Wednesday (6-7 PM),
October 02, 2024. The first six weeks will start on Wednesday, October 09, 2024, and the second six
weeks, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
