Baptism Preparation Classes for Children 7 and Older

Children 7 years and older wishing to be baptized must attend 3 preparatory classes in order to receive their sacrament.
During the first class, the students are introduced to the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church. They will concentrate on the first sacrament - Baptism.

In the second week, the students will explore the meaning of the Apostles Creed, which is the Christian statement of beliefs
based on the teaching of Jesus Christ and the faith of the Apostles. They will also be introduced to the Four Marks of the Church – that it is one, holy, catholic and apostolic.

The third and last class will explore the rituals of the sacrament of Baptism and their significance; the pour of Holy Water and the anointing with oil. (A sign of the Gift of the Holy Spirit).
 

The fall session of classes will take place on the following dates:
Tuesday, October 8
Tuesday, October 15
Tuesday, October 22


These classes run roughly an hour long, and will begin at 5:00 pm. They will take place in the Faith Formation Building located at 9 Academy Hill in Watertown. Parents are required to attend a meeting with Deacon Victor on the first night their children have class. If interested, please call the parish Rectory at 860-274-8836 to register
