Catholic Women of Holy Disciples Parish is having a Baby Shower for Carolyn’s Place at their meeting on Mon. May 6 at 6:30 pm in Fr. Filip Hall, St. John The Evangelist Church. Ladies from St. John The Evangelist and St Mary Magdalen Churches are always welcome! John Lynch, Executive Director of Carolyn’s Place, will share with us new programs and happenings there. Carolyn’s Place is especially dear to our hearts so we are excited about this upcoming meeting. Those interested in attending Mass at the Grotto of Lourdes in Litchfield on Ascension Thursday, May 9, and planning to attend the lunch following Mass are reminded to pay their reservation fee ($20) at the May 6th meeting.

We have a very special guest speaker scheduled for our next meeting. Fr Anthony Federico will be joining us. He is both a dynamic and passionate priest. Fr. Federico is the vocation director for the Hartford Diocese. After a career in the working world, Fr. was ordained a priest. He will be sharing his story of that path to the priesthood entitled “From ESPN to the priesthood”. His joy, energy, and enthusiasm are infectious and his path to his vocation an interesting one. We are blessed to have him with us. I’d like to give him a strong showing from Holy Disciples Parish. The next time Holy Disciples Parish is scheduled to supply and serve the noon meal is this Saturday. If you can supply a 2 lb. cooked meat loaf, cans of vegetables, or would like to help serve, please Bring your meat loaf and vegetables to the St. John Church parking lot at 9:00 AM on Saturday We are also seeking volunteers to serve the meal. Choose a 9AM-12:30PM or 11AM-2PM shift, or stay for both. Follow us down to the Soup Kitchen. You won’t regret it. Bottle & Can Drive to Benefit Holy Disciples Parish Choir trip to Italy! St. John the Evangelist Church parking lot Every 4th Saturday of the month from 9:00 – 10:00 am (The same time as our meatloaf drop off!)
